Join us for Worship

Sunday services are held each week at 8am and 10.30am.

The early service on a Sunday morning at 8am offers a time of quiet reflection and communion at the start of the week. It follows the order of the 1970 “Grey Book" which uses traditional language. It begins with a greeting, confession and absolution and an opening prayer. These are then followed by readings from the Bible. Then, after saying the Creed together and praying for the world, we share communion. Those who come to this service often appreciate the peace and quiet of being in a beautiful church in the early morning. It is a time to think, to pray, to wonder and to worship.

The service at 10am on a Sunday is the one which attracts most people. This follows the same pattern as the service at 8am, but using modern language. There are also hymns and organ music at this service and a sermon is usually preached. The younger members of the church meet together on the second Sunday of the month in the Church Hall and then come and join the rest of the congregation to share the peace and communion. Children are welcome to receive communion in this church and parents are encouraged to determine along with the children, when the right time comes to begin receiving communion. Tea and coffee are served in the Church Hall after the 10am service.

A mid-week service takes place every Wednesday at 11.00. Some people come to this who for one reason or another cannot attend on a Sunday and some like to come for an extra service in the middle of the week. The service lasts about half an hour and takes place in the beautiful choir vestry, which is through the door next to the pulpit.fake rol
